There is so much to do in the area around Cowboy Homestead Cabins that it is impossible to list them all here. However, here are a few suggestions:

Capitol Reef National Park

Cowboy Homestead Cabins sits just minutes from the west entrance of Capitol Reef National Park - one of Utah's most spectacular and least-visited national parks.

Capitol Reef is built around the Waterpocket Fold, a nearly 100-mile long canyon carved through colorful sandstone cliffs and domes. The park is full of things to do - scenic drives, hikes for all skill levels, and the historic Fruita orchards where visitors can pick fresh fruit right off the trees in season. And because Capitol Reef draws far fewer visitors than Zion or Bryce, you'll actually have room to breathe.

Dark Skies

Torrey, Utah sits in one of the darkest corners of the country. With no major cities for hundreds of miles, light pollution is virtually nonexistent. The night sky here has to be seen to be believed.

On a clear night you can see the Milky Way with the naked eye. Thousands of stars, satellites passing overhead, and on the right nights, meteor showers that would be invisible anywhere near a city.

Capitol Reef National Park is a designated Dark Sky Park, and our cabins sit just minutes from the entrance. Pull up a chair, let your eyes adjust, and enjoy the show.

Hiking & Biking

The area in and around Cowboy Homestead Cabins features a landscape for everyone. From the 13,000 foot alpine plateaus of nearby Boulder Mountain (loaded with small lakes full of trout) to the gorgeous red rock canyons and trails in Capitol Reef National Park, solitude is only minutes away!

Relaxing

No matter what your interest, at Cowboy Homestead Cabins you can find something to do without even leaving our 150 acres. But sometimes you just need to do nothing. And our ranch is just the place to relax!

Fishing

Guests can enjoy fishing on the Fremont river, which borders Cowboy Homestead. There are multiple lakes surrounding us on Boulder Lake and Thousand Lake Mountains. Fishing is great for anglers hoping to return with a lot of fish. Expect to find Brook, Cutthroat and Rainbow trout in the lakes.
